The Piranha Are Set Loose In The South

Gulager and company head to New Orleans for sequel

In the same item that provided an update on Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter, Nola.com revealed the shooting dates for Dimension Films’ upcoming sequel Piranha 3DD.

It appears the production won’t be taking place in Arizona – where Aja shot the first film. Director John Gulager will instead be shooting in the New Orleans area between January 17 to February 18. He’ll be working from a script by Marcus Dunstan and Patrick Melton.

I wonder if the locale shift is going to be reflected in the story. Perhaps the prehistoric fish of the first film don’t show up in the south. Granted, the production move is likely due to cost and the incentives offered in Louisiana. Still, a change in environment would be nice.
