Hollywood has a Halloween treat
Sunday Update: Scratch the early estimates. The film grossed an estimated $41.5 million. Zoinks!
Sure, it’s only Saturday, but the weekend box office estimates are in.
No shocker here, Paranormal Activity 2 is going to come out on top. Paramount’s sequel to last year’s Halloween hit is fixin’ to gross nearly $35 million.
The film scared up $18.5 million last night and has proven to pull horror out of an October slump riddled with lackluster performances for Let Me In, Case 39, My Soul to Take, Hatchet II and Chain Letter.
Now we’ll have to see how much Saw 3D takes in when it opens next Friday.
