Marti Noxon talks new themes
Writer Marti Noxon spoke to FearNET about her most recent gig: A remake of Fright Night that begins rolling soon in New Mexico with Anton Yelchin, Colin Farrell, Imogen Poots, David Tennant, Christopher Mintz-Plasse and Toni Collette starring.
Her chat with the site covered some ground we know already, but she did speak of themes, particularly what occurs between Charley Brewster and Evil Ed.
“One of the things we did â that was in the original movie but we mined it more â was really about the relationship between Ed and Charlie. We were interested in what happens when you leave your friends behind. A lot of the movie now has a focus on “What does it mean to be a real man?” There’s a lot of stuff in it with more of a focus on masculinity and what it means to be a man.
