Story now under development
Gargoyles have been the subject of various projects, from the made-for-TV gem Gargoyles to a Tales from the Darkside entry to a hit animated television series.
Disney is carrying on the tradition with a contemporary story that concerns the creatures.
Lauren Shuler Donner and Jack Leslie have enlisted Zoe Green to develop a story for the untitled film. Green is at work on a number of films, including Tigress (in development with Stan Lee’s company) and a fantasy film called Book of Shadows.
Given Disney’s involvement, I don’t think we can expect winged beasts beheading men on top of the Chrysler building in New York City, however, we might see a cool creature feature come out of this.
