It’s Back to School for Scream 4

Here’s the location of a flashback sequence

Wes Craven and his production team have descended upon Ann Arbor, Michigan to begin production on Scream 4, scheduled for an April 15, 2011 release.

Shooting begins in a few weeks and, according to this blog and Michigan’s MLive.com, Craven and company will be using the Dearborn-based Woodworth Middle School for a “flashback” sequence in the film.

The school will be outfitted with a new facade, but the production reportedly chose the school because its brickwork was similar to that of the Sonoma Community Center that stood in for Woodsboro High in the original Scream. If you recall, Craven faced an angry school board on the first film because he wanted to shoot at the Santa Rosa High School. The school board declined due to the script’s subject matter, so, the Sonoma Community Center was used instead.
