A Cuban zombie film
The Hollywood trade papers are reporting 5ta Avenida Producciones and La Zanfona Producciones are going to produce Juan of the Dead, a Cuban zombie film from director Alejandro Brugues.
Shooting begins this September.
According to Variety, actor “Alexis Diaz de Villegas is a 40-year-old slacker named Juan who notices that people are beginning to turn violent. As a zombie epidemic spreads through Havana, he decides to make a quick buck, offering to slay people’s infected relatives. But as the zombie plague reaches national proportions Juan has to concentrate on his survival.”
Although the budget comes in for $2.7 million, that’s said to be a big deal for a Cuban production.
