Update: Shutter Island Maintains Top Box Office Spot

Where’d The Crazies come in?



Update: As the weekend winds down, final box office numbers are in. Shutter Island maintain the number one spot and earned an estimated $22.2 million. Cop Out was ahead of The Crazies with $18.6 million, while the Romero remake came in 3rd with $16.5 million.

Martin Scorsese and Leonardo DiCaprio’s latest collaboration Shutter Island managed to maintain the number one spot this weekend earning an estimated $6.7 million on Friday according to Box Office Mojo.

This week’s newest releases Cop Out and The Crazies were neck and neck as of Friday evening at the number 2 and 3 spots respectively. Both earned just under $6 million on opening night. (The Wolfman dropped to number 8.)
