IFC Films Acquires Stolen Lives For Distro

Mystery/thriller debuts on V.O.D, theaters in March

This is more thriller rather than “horror”, but it does feature an interesting cast and might appeal to Shock readers that are into true crime style mysteries. IFC Films have picked up the North American rights to Stolen Lives according to Variety. (Although they refer to it simply as Stolen.)

Helmed by the director-producer team Anders Anderson and Andy Steinman with their production company A2 Entertainment, the story centers on a small-town police chief who works to uncover the truth behind the mummified remains of a boy found in a box, buried for 50 years.

Stolen Lives stars Jon Hamm (Zack Snyder’s upcoming Sucker Punch), Josh Lucas (American Psycho, Session 9), Rhona Mitra (Underworld: Rise of the Lycans, Doomsday) and James Van Der Beek (Final Draft, The Plague).

The movie will be released on video-on-demand March 3 and will open at the Clearview Chelsea in New York on March 12 and the Sunset 5 in Los Angeles on March 19. Here’s the trailer below:
