WWII Threat Stalks the Town of Ruiflec

First images from new French production

World War II and the occult have provided inspiration for countless horror films, from The Bunker to Outpost to the recent Lionsgate release Blood Creek.

French filmmaker Fouad Benhammou, making his feature debut, is getting in on the fun with Ruiflec: The Village of Darkness and we’ve found a rough look at some footage as well as a number of stills from the production (below).

Benhammou, who penned the script with Pascal Jaubert and Lionel Olenga, tells the story of a group of travelers who wind up stranded in the eponymous town where, during the German occupation in the ’40s, two soldiers faced off with an indescribable threat. Now it appears this menace is back and picking off the travelers.

Production wrapped this year, so we’ll be hearing more about the film in 2010 when it debuts in France.
