Being helmed by the Dowdle brothers
Variety reports that Chris Messina is set to star in Devil, the new horror/thriller based on a story by M. Night Shyamalan that will be directed by John Erick Dowdle and Drew Dowdle. The Dowdle brothers adapted the Spanish cult classic [REC] last year into Quarantine and were also responsible for the (as yet to be released) Poughkeepsie Tapes.
This marks the first (of three) films that Shyamalan and Media Rights Capital are creating for Night Chronicles, the banner that will hatch one genre film per year for the next three years. The production begins in Toronto on October 26 for Universal Pictures from a script by Brian Nelson (Co-writer on 30 Days Of Night).
