Played the DC character in 2 movies & a TV series
We’re terribly saddened to learn of the passing of actor/stuntman Dick Durock, most recognized by genre fans for his portrayal of Swamp Thing.
Durock got his start making appearances in dozens of TV shows such as Battlestar Galactica, The A-Team, Santa Barbara, Knight Rider, Airwolf and many more. Personally, this writer remembers him scaring the hell out of me as the monster in the 1981 two part episode “Frye’s Creature” of The Incredible Hulk.
The actor went on to play the DC comics character Swamp Thing in Wes Craven’s film, again in it’s sequel The Return Of Swamp Thing and also for the Swamp Thing television series, which ran for 71 episodes.
He was 72 years old.
