Howard Berger of KNB Talks Design of Predators

Going back to the Winston look

In August, we broke the news that KNB EFX was awarded the enviable position to create the creature effects for Predators, directed by Vacancy‘s Nimrod Antal and produced by Robert Rodriguez.

Moviehole caught up to the shop’s Oscar-winning Howard Berger (hard at work on the latest “Narnia” film Voyage of the Dawn Treader) who says if you missed the “look” of Stan Winston’s original Predator design, you won’t be disappointed with what will tear up the screen next summer.

“We went back and looked at the original,” Berger tells the site. “I actually worked in the shop with Stan Winston on the first film. It was great to be able to go back to the series having not been involved in any of the sequels, and it was also great to be able to make sure we built them as Stan Winston did.” Berger’s partner, Greg Nicotero, will be supervising the project. “There’s a whole bunch of cool [Predator’s] in the film…”

Predators was written by Alex Litvak and Michael Finch. The plot is set on the Predator home planet.
