Update: Survival of the Dead Joins the Twitter-verse

Get updates on Romero’s latest zombie film!

Update: The MySpace page is now live and ol’ George explains the story behind the title of his latest film:

“Some of you have been asking about the title of my new film. I called it “Survival of the Dead” because it’s about a group of people who escape to a place they think is safe – an island where they hope to survive the war between the living and the dead.

That’s how the story begins. By the end, something happens that makes the word “survival” take on a whole new meaning. I’m not going to give it away now.”

Artfire Films and Romero-Grunwald Productions officially launched the George A. Romero’s Survival of the Dead Twitter page to get some intel out to zombie aficionados.

On the official Twitter page – Twitter.com/OfficialRomero – fans will not only be able to “tweet” about the latest information and news about the film, but even the filmmakers themselves will chime in about the latest developments in getting the film ready for release. Among the cast and crew who will be posting include actors Alan Van Sprang, Kenneth Welsh, Kathleen Munroe, Devon Bostick, Richard Fitzpatrick and Eric Woolfe; editor Michael Doherty, stunt coordinator Matt Birman, VFX supervisor Colin Davies, SFX makeup creator Francois Dagenais, costume designer Alex Kavanagh, EPK producer Michael Felsher – and George A. Romero himself! Fans will recognize these “official” tweets as they will end with the person’s initials: AVS, KW, KM, DB, RF, EW, MD, MB, CD, FD, AK, MF and of course GAR!

In addition, fans will find up-to-the-minute information about the film, including photos and exclusive video at MySpace.com/OfficialGeorgeRomero.

George A. Romero’s Survival of the Dead follows a war-weary band of soldiers who are lured to a remote island that promises to be the last paradise on earth, only to discover that even here there is no escape from the appetites of either the living or the dead.
