RIP: Actor Lou Perryman

Tragic end for Texas Chainsaw 2 actor

Update: Read The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2. Prior to that, Perryman had worked with the director in Poltergeist and was a camera assistant on the original Texas Chainsaw Massacre. He also shared an assistant director credit with Sallye Richardson on Hooper’s first film Eggshells.

“He was a wonderful man and was so happy to have you all in his life. He was blessed,” writes Perryman’s daughter, Jennifer, via his Facebook page.

When we contacted Jennifer for more details regarding his death, she provided us a link to this local story. Although officials cannot confirm this since the case is still open, it appears Perryman was murdered in his South Austin home. His body was found yesterday and a suspect is in custody.

I double-checked the location of the crime scene and it matched Perryman’s home address.

“I hope people remember his life more than his death,” Jennifer told me this morning.

Perryman’s credits also include The Blues Brothers, Last Night at the Alamo and Boys Don’t Cry, starring Hilary Swank.
