EXCL: Mutant Chronicles’ Hunter Lines Up Next Film

A wartime paranoia thriller

ShockTillYouDrop.com just got off the horn with Mutant Chronicles helmer Simon Hunter who offered up some early details on his potential next project.

After spending a good four years of his life on Chronicles, a tremendous visual challenge to execute, this British helmer is yearning to pick up a 16mm camera and tackle something with a small scale and a high impact, much like his 2000 debut Lighthouse. “I am working on something I don’t have a good title for,” he said. “There’s a thriller I have about a man who comes back from wartime Iraq and he’s convinced a bomb has been sewn inside him. No one believes him, there’s a very Enemy of the State and Jacob’s Ladder feel about it. It’s not a big spectacular movie. It’s a mindfuck, which is what I like very much.”

Hunter can’t reveal which company he’s lining up with to produce this project just yet, but it sounds like we’ll be hearing more about it soon. A full interview with Hunter on Mutant Chronicles is forthcoming! For more on the film, including photos, release date info and more – click here!
