Rumor control on New Line’s remake
In this Variety article from last night, the trade reports Wesley Strick is attached to direct A Nightmare on Elm Street.
Not so.
A source confirmed for us this afternoon that Strick still only carries “writer” credit on the New line remake, not director. The writer of Wolf was hired on to the project in July. No word yet on how close New Line is to bringing on a helmer; we hear Platinum Dunes is still not officially on board to produce.
