And, producer to helm witchcraft thriller
Edgar Ramirez (Vantage Point) is poised to topline Viene el Jaguar.
According to Variety, he’ll play a tortured ex-priest trailing an exorcist in the Colombian jungle. The story is based on the recent revelation that a group of underage Colombian para-militaries, Los Cruzados, painted their nails black, practiced Satanic rites and ate human flesh to exorcise the spirits of villagers they had killed.
Produced by Colombia’s Antorcha Films, Jaguar will be directed by Carlos Moreno will direct, with Antorcha partners Diego F. Ramirez and Jhonny Hendrix producing. Perro come perro (Dog Eat Dog) scribes Alonso Torres and Moreno are finishing the screenplay.
Meanwhile, Hendrix will direct Saudo, about a man who returns to his witchcraft-dominated home village.
