More plot details uncovered for NBC horror series

NBC revealed on Friday, at its All American Summer press day, the latest spate of actors joining its horror anthology series Fear Itself (previous news item). In addition to that, we have some more plot details on a few previously announced episodes. We’ll break it down simple-like…

The Sacrifice: Formerly entitled Red Snow, directed by Breck Eisner and written by Mick Garris (based on Del Howison’s short story). Actors Jeffrey Pierce (The Nine), Jesse Plemons (Friday Night Lights), Stephen Martines (No Man’s Land: Reeker II), Rachel Miner (Tooth and Nail, Californication) and Mircea Monroe (The Black Waters of Echoes Pond) will star in this tale of four criminals stranded in a snow-covered fort with three deadly sirens.

In Sickness and in Health: Directed by John Landis and written by Victor Salva. Maggie Lawson (Psych), James Roday (Psych), Christie Laing (Supernatural), Sonja Bennet (Eureka) and Marshall Bell (A Nightmare on Elm Street 2, Starship Troopers) star. Lawson will play a bride who learns that, on her wedding day, her husband-to-be might be a serial killer.

Family Man: Directed by Ronny Yu and is written by Dan Knauf. This thriller focuses on a likeable family man (Colin Ferguson, Eureka) who switches bodies with a serial killer (Clifton Collins Jr., Star Trek) after a near-death experience. Now, he must fight from behind bars to keep the murderer from adding his wife (Josie Davis, Ghost Whisperer), son (Gig Morton, Psych), and daughter (Nicole Leduc, Kyle XY) to the long list of victims.

Something With Bite: Directed by Ernest Dickerson and written by Max Landis. When a veterinarian (Wendell Pierce, Stay Alive) gets bitten by a large, strange animal brought into his clinic, he begins to see the world and his stale life differently. Paula Jai Parker (Tales from the Hood) also stars.

New Year’s Day: Directed by Darren Bousman and written by Steve Niles from a story by Paul Kane. A young woman (Briana Evigan, Step Up 2: The Streets) wakes up in a post-apocalyptic world overrun by horrifying zombies.
