Ellis Settling Down in Hornburg’s Grove

American Psycho scribe adapting novel

Mangrove Entertainment is bringing Michael Hornburg’s Downers Grove to the screen and they’ve enlisted American Psycho‘s Bret Easton Ellis to write the screenplay.

Jason Dubin and Oren Segal are producing the story of Illinois teen Crystal Methedrine Swanson (subtle name, no?), a paranoid high school senior for whom graduating has become a matter of life or death.

Ellis also wrote the screenplay for the upcoming The Frog King, which stars Joseph Gordon-Levitt. Writer-director Roger Avery also is developing Ellis’ novel Glamorama.
