Join Hooper for Live Commentary, Texas Chainsaw Screening

Harryhausen to talk Sinbad!

This month, the Aero Theatre in Santa Monica (1328 Montana Ave.) is holding a special weekend of screenings featuring live commentaries from those who know the films best. It’ll be like sitting at home watching one of your favorite flicks with the director (or film tech) practically sitting on your lap – can’t get more personal than that, now can it?

On Saturday, February 16th the Aero will present the ’70s horror classic The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (starring Gunnar Hansen, Marilyn Burns and Jim Siedow) at 7:30pm. Director Tobe Hooper is attending to chat about the making of the film as it unravels on-screen.

The following day, at 5:00pm, the Aero is hosting a 50th Anniversary screening of The 7th Voyage of Sinbad. For this event, Arnold Kunert will moderate a discussion involving a number of FX heavyweights including Ray Harryhausen, Phil Tippett, Dennis Muren, Randy Cook and Bernard Herrmann biographer Steven Smith.

A special reception will precede the screening at the Every Picture Tells a Story gallery across the street from the Aero.

Tickets for both days are available at Fandango.com.
