They’re back! Mulder and Scully will return in Fox’s upcoming X-Files sequel and the studio has passed along four official stills featuring David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson. Seek the truth in our gallery!
As rumored, the alien conspiracy theories are being jettisoned in favor of a one-shot story. USA Today caught up to writer-director, here’s an excerpt from their piece:
“We spent a lot of time on (the mythology) and wrapped up a lot of threads” when the show went off the air in 2002, says Chris Carter, creator of the series and director of the new movie. “We want a stand-alone movie, not a mythology conspiracy one.”
Fox releases the sequel on July 25th. Amanda Peet, Xzibit, Billy Connolly, Callum Keith Rennie and Adam Godley will co-star.
