Warner Bros.’ Howls for Benighted

Hires writer to adapt werewolf thriller

Benighted, a novel by Kit Whitfield, will be adapted for the screen by Patrick Smith Kelly.

The supernatural thriller concerns an “alternate reality” where werewolves are the dominating species and humans keep the peace “during the full moon.” The story falls on Lola, an investigator trying to solve a series of grisly murders. Graham King and Andrew Adamson are producing, the latter may direct.

Kelly previously penned Andrew Davis’ A Perfect Murder starring Michael Douglas and Gwyneth Paltrow and Don’t Say a Word, again, with Douglas in the leading role.
