Based on the supernatural book series
Writer David Reynolds (A Bug’s Life, Chicken Little) is adapting Nightmare Academy for producers Stephen Sommers (Van Helsing) and Bob Ducsay.
Based on a series of books by Dean Lorey – the first of which was published in August by HarperCollins – the story is set in a school where select kids are recruited and taught on how to police nightmares. Lorey is expected to turn “Academy” into a trilogy of novels.
The rights were scooped up by Universal last year.
