Rogue Heralds Summer’s End

And could John Carpenter direct next?

Variety reports Rogue Pictures and Platinum Dunes are collaborating to bring Jeremy Passmore’s Summer’s End to fruition. The latter’s Andrew Form and Brad Fuller will produce with Matt Smith; Passmore is in the rewrite process.

Bearing shades of Red Dawn and Children of the Corn (at least to this writer), the story concerns a bunch of teens living in a small Oregon town ravaged by a virus that has wiped out the adult population. When the military moves in, the teens are forced to “fight for their lives.”

Passmore is reportedly working on script with Andre Fabrizio for Circle of Confusion entitled The Prince…with the intention of John Carpenter to direct.
