Solomon explains why
The choice of what horror movie to see on June 22nd just got easier. After Dark Films has bumped Captivity, starring Elisha Cuthbert, off of that date and placed it into a July 13th slot.
That date was formerly held by Rogue’s The Strangers which moved to an undetermined date itself. This leaves Dimension Films’ 1408 to stretch its legs as the only horror film opening on the 22nd.
“The switch with The Weinstein Company is the result of a collaborative decision serving the best interests of both movies,” said Courtney Solomon, partner, After Dark Films. “While the recent MPAA sanction affected the promotion for ‘Captivity,’ we are confident that our fans will enjoy all the gut-wrenching thrills that have been the buzz of the horror industry these past few months.”
