Magnolia Pictures has provided Shock’s growing video collection with a teaser for The Signal.
Those who attended this year’s Sundance Film Festival say this one – directed by David Bruckner, Jacob Gentry and Dan Bush – was a hot commodity with a powerful impact. Naturally, Magnolia, who has been on the ball with The Host and Severance pick-ups, tuned in to “Signal” and purchased the distribution rights with an aim to release it this summer. Being likened to Danny Boyle’s 28 Days Later, the film revolves around various characters struggling through a city where a mysterious signal, coming through a sundry of media devices, is amplifying violent urges in its inhabitants. Look for The Signal in theaters August 10th and keep your eyes here for more coverage.
