Exclusive Redwood Clip Finds Horror in the Woods

Redwood: Nicholas Brendon-starring thriller currently at Cannes

London-based Stern Pictures are now at the 70th annual Cannes Film Festival with their new horror feature Redwood (which we previously reported on here).  Starring Nicholas Brendon (Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Coherence), Redwood takes a new path through the dark forest, with a young couple pushed to their limits as they contend with the elements, the dark forces following them, and each other.

The latest feature from the European production company, Redwood was led by executive producers Maciej Stern Sterzynski and Mike Stern Sterzynski, who stepped in as director of photography following his award-winning 2014 short Decay.  The film also stars Mike Beckingham (younger brother of Star Trek and Shaun of the Dead star Simon Pegg) in his debut lead role, alongside Tatjana Nardone (Stalking Eva), Muzz Khan (Me Before You, Galavant), and Jessica-Jane Stafford (Gangsters Gamblers Geezers).

Synopsis: After some bad news, musician Josh and his girlfriend Beth head out to a secluded national park in search of some clarity and relaxation. But the couple get more than they bargained for when they ignore the advice of park rangers and venture off the trail, coming face to face with The Redwood’s legendary wildlife. Redwood brings a fresh spin to a well-worn mythology to create an edge of your seat horror movie that will shred your nerves and have you thinking twice about going camping again.

Redwood is expected to premiere later this year. Stern Pictures is currently representing worldwide rights at the Cannes Film Festival. Their next feature, Chronology, is in post-production. Stay tuned here for more as we get it and check out the exclusive clip below and the trailer and photos below that!
