Exclusive Trailer Premiere: Tabloid Vivant

Deranged art horror film Tabloid Vivant releases new trailer in advance of October 20th premiere

Director Kyle Broom’s festival fave low-budget indie flick Tabloid Vivant  is strange, singular art horror film that defies easy classification. Which is kind of what we should be looking for in horror, something that breaks rules and tries to if not evolve the genre, then send it careening into new directions. The film plays like some sort of deranged David Lynch quote by way of Andy Warhol and Roman Polanksi and is set for release via Film Rights for an October 20th premiere.

Here’s the official synopsis: Max (Jesse Woodrow) is an artist seduced by the allure of fame. Sara (Tazmin Brown) is an art critic whose obsessions exceed even his. When she lands a writing gig at a major art magazine, the pair retreats to a cabin in the woods, where Max reveals his strange new painting method. Convinced of its potential, she agrees to collaborate on a piece sure to revolutionize the art world. While both original and mesmerizing, the project reveals something dark and disturbing about their relationship. Like two digital-age Doctor Frankensteins, they manage to make a painting come alive – though the unsettling consequences of their success may be more fit for the pages of a blood-soaked tabloid than the chronicles of art history.

STYD got our paint-covered paws on the official new trailer for the film. Have a look below and tell us what you think. The movie is certainly not for everyone, but we have this feeling that it will find its cult…
