Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain Coming September 1

Konami has officially announced that the upcoming Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain will be released later this year on September 1 for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC on September 15.

In addition, the Collector’s Edition of the game has been revealed (via IGN) and includes the following physical and digital goods:

  • Behind-the-Scenes Documentary and Trailers Blu-Ray Disc
  • A Map

Picking up ten years after the previously-released Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes, the game takes place in the Russian occupied territories of Afghanistan in the 1980s. The player assumes the role of Snake (aka Big Boss) who is newly-equipped with a robotic arm and rides the landscape of the Middle East.
