Games: Gamescom Sony PlayStation Announcements and Videos

Sony PlayStation’s presentation at Gamescom in Cologne, Germany is over, but you can now watch all the announcement videos below! We’ll start with the new PlayStation 3 title Until Dawn, which was created for the PS Move. You can check out the trailer below the description:

One night, you and seven other teenagers are on a remote mountain on the anniversary of your friend’s mysterious death. The power’s out, there’s no phone reception and you’re trying to get the hot cheerleader to notice you. What could possibly go wrong?

The new PlayStation 3 game Puppeteer was also announced and can be viewed below. It’s described as follows:

One dark moonlit night, a young boy named Kutaro was carried away by the maleficent Moon Bear King to a black castle where the unlucky lad was transformed into a puppet. Kutaro displeased the terrible tyrant, who devoured the boy’s wooden head and cast away his body. But the headless hero was not alone, for he had discovered a very special pair of scissors to help him on his harrowing adventure to find his head, and his way home.

Media Molecule’s new project Tearaway was also announced for the PS Vita…

Tearaway is kind of like a buddy movie. It stars iota, a messenger from a paper dimension, whose envelope head contains an urgent message to deliver… to you! It’s a very special message, and one that’s unique for each and every player. In order to read yours, you’ll need to take up the role of co-star and, together with iota, journey through the vibrant papery landscape — two buddies going on an epic adventure.

The new PSN title Rain was previewed and is described below:

In this dark, mysterious world, you take on the role of a boy who becomes invisible, so his figure can only be seen in the rain. Freshly revealed at Gamescom, watch the announce trailer for a first look at this wondrous story.

Next up, for PS Vita owners comes Call of Duty: Black Ops Declassified

Sony also released this new trailer for The Last of Us, which was edited specifically for the show. Set to a fitting and haunting track by Hank Williams, Sr., this new trailer mixes previously seen content along with some brand new cinematic and gameplay footage, to provide more detail of the environments and dangerous opposition Joel and Ellie will face on their journey across the United States.

What follows is the official gameplay trailer for Killzone: Mercenary, which was designed specifically for the PS Vita platform. It’s a first-person shooter that makes full use of the device’s graphical and input capabilities.
