PlayStation 4 Sells Through 5.7 Million Units Over the Holidays

The PlayStation 4 has now sold through more than 35.9 million units

Sony Computer Entertainment today announced that the PlayStation 4 has sold through more than 5.7 million units during the 2015 holiday season from about November 22 to January 3. PS4 has now cumulatively sold through more than 35.9 million units globally as of January 3, 2016.

PlayStation 4 software sales also remained strong during the 2015 holiday season with more than 35 million copies sold in retail stores worldwide and through digital downloads on PlayStation Store as of January 3, 2016.

In addition, 60% more users subscribed to PlayStation Plus at the end of 2015 compared to the same period the previous year. Subscribers to PS Plus have access to a wide variety of features such as “Instant Game Collection,” which allows members to play full versions of popular titles from third party developers and publishers, as well as from SCE Worldwide Studios, with no time limits or extra costs. PS4 owners have also been enjoying online multiplayer with PS Plus.

The PS4 system is currently available in 124 countries and regions worldwide.
