Doomsday

In my own personal opinion, I think The Lord of the Rings Trilogy will be great movies. I KNOW these will be the biggest movies for the next 3 winter seasons. I know that I, along with millions of other people, will love these movies. Unfortunately, I also know that people will totally go overboard with these movies. Know what I'm talking about? Didn't think so. Lemme give you an example.
Star Wars
I'll explain. I love these movies. I think they are great. I've watched each one of these movies a bunch of times. However, there are a bunch of people, some who might even post at these forums, who have totally ruined these movies for everybody. How? By making these movies, simple films, into world-wide religions. How can these psycho people wait in line for movie tickets 6 months in advance. When I went and saw The Phantom Menace, there were people dressed up like Darth Vader, Stormtroopers, etc. and spouted Star Wars lines until the movie started, then went outside and started fighting with lightsabers. If you know a lot of normal people, these are the ultimate nerd movies. This would not have happened if it weren't for those weirdos. If you watch these with your friends, then they will probably stop talking to you, unless they are obsessed fans, too. I'm not saying you should stop watching them, I'm not saying they are bad movies, all I am saying is that people have ruined these movies by going overboard.
What I'm trying to say is that I'm afraid this is going to happen to LOTR. I pray that it won't, but I think this will change peoples opinions on LOTR. I don't really expect any replies, but that's what I think, in my opinion.
