i haven't read the books yet, but could you tell me wich scene(s) will really be remembered? i mean, is there a scene in the books that will be as cool as, lets say THE BATTLE OF ENDOR or something? something HUGE and complicated.. wich would make you go:
JESUS *****ING CHRIST ROME ST JEAN MICHAEL!!!
that scene alone must have cost a billion!!!
that's sooooooooooooooo big!!! you know?
a scene wich will make the audients go on and on applauding..ya know? a scene SO truly incredible people in 2358 will say, do you remember great grandpa TELLING about that scene? that was SO cool!! ya know? a scene that will keep you awake at night and, instead of masturbating your pathetic little woodpecker you’ve called Carl, you can only lie awake and think: WHAT A COOL SCENE!!
ya know?..
will there be a scene like that in LOTR? will there? well?..

I think the most knockout scene of them all is going to be either the battle of Helms Deep, or the storming of Isengard. Minas Tirith is a pretty normal battle, and Gandalf and Balrog is not going to be THAT awesome. I mean, it's great to imagine, but they can't make it look that good. Whereas Helms Deep and Isengard will be made better by being able to see it in full view, rather than in the very blurry picture your head produces.

Remember that Black& White Guiness commercial with all those surfers being chased by thundering waves with wild stallions on them ?
Ever wondered where it found its inspiration ?

That's right......the part in Fellowship of the Ring when the Dark Riders chase Frodo to try & prevent him reaching Rivendell & are stopped by the united charms laid on by Gandalf and The Elven Lords on the River.

This scene will kick ass.

I can only imagine how The Nine are gonna look.

I think the biggest scene will be in the second movie when Frodo and Sam first see Shelob and he pulls out Sting and the Star of Galadriel, and then when Sam beats up Gollum and stabs SHelob, and basically the end of the second book or movie

We have already seen the biggest scene of it all ...

Even though its not in the books. And it wont even be in the movies.

Im talking about the first trailer...

I will always remember the shiver upon my neck when i saw The Ring for the first time...

These scenes where you can see the spilled blood, the burning flames, the glowing runes and finally, The Ring ...
Its just marvellous.

Could one of ya tell me what scene it is in the new trailer when you see that beautiful blue light in the sky "explode"? Gandalf's powers?

I think many people will find the flight to the ford an exciting scene. I mean, its the ringwraiths last chance to get the ring before it gets to rivendale. They set a good trap that barely misses

I would have to say the whole seen in Khazad-dum (Moria). The part when the Orcs are coming after them and Gandolfs Battle with the Balrog.

I'm going to second the vote on the scene at the river with the white horses and the black riders! In the book, it was so amazing to read that I can only imagine what it'll be like on the big screen! Oh, GOD! I can't waite for the movie to come out!!!! :)

My god mr Null, I've never seen anything like you before. And I do mean that in the most resentful negative way possible.

And as for this thread: I was SUCH A NEWB back then! :) But its great to read everybody's excitement in those months just before Fellowship came out. It's funny that some people back then thought the flight to the ford and the drowning of the black riders would be one of most incredible scenes of the entire trilogy..

Ah, we were so innocent back then :p Me personally anyway: I hadn't read the books, didn't know any of the characters or locations, even wondered what 'that blue light above the lake' was that we saw in the first trailer. :) How my life has changed over the last three years.. Beautiful!

I know how you feel. I remember growing up and people always called me Bilbo because my name is Bill. That's about as much as I knew about LOTR. I was always told to read it but never did. When I first saw the first trailer I didn't know what to expect. Now they are the best movies I've ever seen. I've read the first two books now and seen the first two movies a hundred times each. :)
