So am I the only one here on these boards who likes baseball???? If not then, post something on here! C'mon, don't be chicken!!!!
On another note, I'm really really sad for the Cardinals who lost Darryl Kyle on Saturday night, when he died because there was something wrong with his heart.
So as I was saying, SOMEONE TELL ME IF THERE A BASEBALL FAN!?!?!

I'm very much a baseball fan Kitty...;)

And the Cardinals' have been my team ever since I went to my first game at about 2 or 3...I live about an hour from St.Louis so I try to catch as many games as possible...

And as for myself, I was shocked and devastated about Kile :( ...When I heard they found him in his hotel room dead it was like "BAM..Wha?!!"...I seriously figured he had been killed by someone because who woulda thought a man as young as him would die of natural causes in his sleep...Especially in as good of physical condition he was in...I read some stories and it hit more than just the Cardinals' players hard..I read Larry Walker from the Rockies, Astros' players, even teams he'd never played for were hit hard...I very much think this will effect the rest of the Cardinals' season, as well it should, but that's the least of their worries as well as the fans of St.Louis..who I'm telling you right now from personal experience, are the BEST fans in baseball...

R.I.P. Darryl and the best for his wife and kids...

I hate the Dodgers with every fiber of my body.

Well, that may be a bit extreme, but I don't like them. I'm an Angels and Padres man.

I can come right out and say it with pride:

I'm an Astros fan!

I've got my Lance Berkman autographed jersey and baseball, my Bagwell bobblehead, my Jack-in-the-Box Astros antenna ball, and my Astros mousepad all in my office. My office, which by the way, overlooks Enron.... I mean Minute Maid Park. I've gotta be a hardcore fan to be this supportive after their dismal 2-12 playoff record since 97. But hey, there's a lot to be said for a team who won their division 4 of the last 5 years, right? Right? RIGHT???

Kitty

See, here you can say whichever team ur in favor of the most, u know, ur fav baseball team. I would just like to say once again:
DODGERS ARE THE BEST!!!!!!!!!! (in my opinion)

Um, the Astros won the playoff game as I recall.:p

I must admit, this year isn't looking too bright. I think we need some serious rebuilding in the bullpen.

I like baseball, and I always look forward to the playoffs and the World Series. But once again, as in the past, I'm left wondering if there will be a strike. I f those bone-heads on both sides don't come to an agreement on whatever the issues are, a walk-out could kill the game for good! I hate this!

I`m a fan too, even used to play it for a while back in England, yes I did say England. The Twins are my team, what I want to know is how the league can try and drop them?

It's all money. MLB is a business. Think of it like Wal-Mart. If you have a store in a town that no one goes to, and is simply costing the company money to continue to operate it, you close down the store and move your inventory elsewhere. Then you set up a new store. The problem I think, is that there are too many teams in markets that can't support a major league sports team, either due to population or lack of interest. The twin cities obviously have the population, but the interest is gone. Same with the Marlins. The Devil Rays lack the population in Tampa and interest to support themselves once the novelty wore off. Plus, Florida gets their share of baseball in the Grapefruit league.

I am a very big baseball fan, but I am tired of seeing teams like the Yankees buy championships every year. The Marlins did it in '97 I think, then the Diamondbacks last year, and the Yankees last 2 or 3 titles were acquired the same way. If they go on strike this year, I may have to turn my back on my favorite sport.

I am a Cubs fan at heart, so I am probably a little jaded by the game no matter how you look at it.

Okay, here's a baseball forum for this year, aside from fantasy...

A-Rod to the Yankees? A match made in Hell... Happy Valentines Day, Georgey Boy... You'll soon see why it would have been better for everyone for A-Rod to just stay in Seattle... $250 mil a lot of dough, but I'm not sure if that was enough for me to sell my soul.. But hey, it's his funeral...

NOOOOO!!! god....like the yankees really need another MVP type player! They are ruining baseball! o well...i'll be here to laugh when the red sox kick the yankees a$$ this season! :D

How I hate the Yankees. I hate them so much. I can't wait for the upstarts like Toronto to just totally smack them around. Even with an MVP at almost every position, the Yanks still have a weak starting five, and their set-up men are questionable at best.

Either way,

GO PHILLIES!!!

Well, I hate to rain on everones parade but I'm not a baseball fan. The reason being kind of has to do with his heart failure. There's a good chance that it was caused by over use of anaboilic steroids. I just can't get over the fact that so many baseball players use it and nothing is done about it.

But back in the days before I understood all this I was a big Atlanta fan.

Of course I used to play as well and it saddens me to see what has been happening to the MLB lately

Greg Maddox rejected the SF Giant's offer yesterday, and in today's Chicago Sun-Times, it's reported that the Cubs are upping their offer to Maddox around the $15 million range for two years... I'd like to see Maddox as a Cub, if he can begin performing again like he used to...

Yea... Maddox as a Cub will be pretty refreshing to the eyes of baseball in general... being a Padres fan, im really excited about this upcoming season... I really feel that we're gonna be contenders this year or at the least have a better record than last year or even the last five seasons...
