Saw the first Ninja Turtles movie on ABC Family tonight. I hadn't seen it in a while. That movie is awesome. One of the best in genre. It's better than Iron Man! ;)

It's funny. It has some nice "dark" scenes here and there. The characters are well-developed. The Turtles suit are great. The performances were able to move and do their martial arts. Casey Jones was the man. Cool fight scenes. Good score by John Du Prez. etc.

What I didn't like was April O'Neil. The actress did a good job, but she was ugly. The April from the two sequels was an improvement...look-wise...that is.

Is this the one where one of the turtles messes up his carapace and lies in a bathtub for like half the movie?

lol. It was Raphel who got beat up by the Foot Clan. And..the laying on the bathtub thing was for like 3 minutes!

Oh, it is a loooong time since I saw it, and that sequence just sticks in my head. Although, it seems I dont quite remember it as it was :P

"Whats a guy gotta do to get some food around here?"

"Its a kodak moment."

My favorite movie of all time. The CGI stuff is cool and all, but I really wish they would do another live action movie.

It sticks in your head cause it's one of the "serious" scenes.

The first Ninja Turtles is definitely the best. I just watched it again also for the first time since I was like 5 and I really liked it. The 2nd was alright, I never saw the 3rd because I heard it was awful, and I just watched the one from 2007 and thought it was good but really lost a lot of its charm that the live action ones had. Plus, I like the Turtles fighting Shredder or Krang.

The first movie was great. Quite a classic.

I did sort of like the sequel, although I remember leaving a bit disappointed because I thought the film was going to feature Bebop and Rocksteady, or rather, you know, a rhino and warthog. Instead we got that wolf and... another turtle.

I don't like it so much anymore though, and of course the third was pretty awful.

I put Ninja Turtles as my #1 guilty pleasure in my top 10 thread, although I really don't feel that guilty about it. ;)

I loved the first one. I remember all of us in my 2nd grade class were excited and talking about it when it came out, which was understandable since the Turtles were enormously popular at the time. The thing I remember most was not being able to see it the first 2 times I went to the theater because it was sold out. Loved the fight scene between Shredder and the turtles.

Anyways, great movie and the best of the series. Part 2 was ok but too lighthearted. The 3rd one was horrible though. Though I thought the actress who played April in the sequels(Paige Turco) was hotter than the first one.

It shouldn't be a guilty pleasure. Part 2 is a different story.

Part 2 is good, a worthy entry into the TMNT universe.

The third one on the other hand... ugh. I still like it, since its the turtles, but oh is it bad.

Even though Vanilla Ice is in it.

side note: did anyone else notice sam rockwell in the first ninja turtles movie? i was surprised to see him last time i watched it with my little bro.

We got a pirated VHS of TMNT when i was about 7, still have it now at my folks' place somewhere!

I remember Turtle Power going into the UK top 10 after the film's release and it coming on at a party for my aunty's 40th birthday; being a huge fan i got up and danced to it on this huge dancefloor all by myself. When it ended the DJ called me up to the DJ booth and gave me his copy of Partners In Kryme - Turtle Power on vinyl, which is also lying around my parents' house in a box alongside Hi Tek 3 feat. Ya Kid K - Spin That Wheel (Turtles Get Real).

Classics :meanie:

Yeah, Turtle Power is better.

And Sam Rockwell is a favorite of mine since I realized he was the "regular? ...or menthol?" guy from TMNT.

I also thought Bebop and Rocksteady were going to be in the sequel.

Anyways, the first one was awesome. I loved the 80s cartoon version so I was excited as hell at the time to see the live action movie. The sequels weren't too good, though.
