It's only whiny Venom fanboys because their precious symbiote didn't have over an hour screentime...even though the stupid character shouldn't have been in the movie in the first place.

Hate? What hate. Rami is one of the best directors around today. He's made some of the best genre pictures ever. (Evil Dead trilogy, the first two "Spidey's) "Spidey 3" was a misstep but it wasn't the worst comic book movie ever and should not bring about any sort of hatred. In other words..just get over it and hope the next film is better.

that and I don't consider spiderman 1 to be great it pretty much sucked ass imo.
spidey 2 was solid and I really liked it. But in my eyes the guy is a fluke. how the hell can you F up venom so bad? and what really pissed me off is if you're gonna lie and call yourself a spidey fan then stick to the original black suit design, I see no reason why they had to color the regular suit black, instead of actually designing the back suit. retarded.

Evil Dead II mediocre? Army of Darkness awful? I would love for you to give me a better example of a horror/comedy movie when the reality is none even come close. You do realize they were comedies, right?
And most people on here don't even realize he didn't just make the Spider-Man movies. Aside from all 3 Evil Dead films being great, For Love of the Game is one of the better sports flicks. The hate for him is only justified by the comic book nerds who want their $1.50 coloring books to be exactly how they are on the big screen. Comic book nerds don't know what makes up a good movie, which is why Incredible Hulk has a 7.8 on IMDB right now. Spider-Man 1 and 2 are leaps and bounds above every comic book film save Batman Begins, and it was a result of this movie that the other comic book films were ushered in to the point where we're getting loads of them each year, for better or usually worse.
Is the hate justified? Certainly not, but remember it comes from people who get upset when their coloring books aren't followed exactly as if they're novels.

It's pretty known that Raimi never planned to have Venom in the third film (really, he never wanted him in there.) It was supposed to be Sandman and Vulture. Avi Arad pressured Raimi into using Venom in the third flick.
However, this does not make up for the piss-poor way Raimi handled Venom in the third film. That was a mess.

thats what i always hear... but the first evil dead was not a comedy, at least not in the sense raimi turned them into with the second and third.
and i enjoy spiderman 2, but like ive said about pretty much all comic book movies, they are fun to watch and all, but they aren't good movies, i'm not going to pop in any comic book movie to watch on my free time, if they are on FX sure but im not going out of my way to see these films again.

Okay and Evil Dead was very good, especially being so low budget. I still don't see how the sequels can be awful when they redefined (or really created) an entire genre and did it great.
I would disagree there. I think most comic book movies are quite bad, but there are exceptions with the first 2 Spider-Man movies and Batman Begins being the glowing exceptions along with Iron Man, X2, and Tim Burton's Batman flicks. I feel the writing in the Spider-Man movies was top-notch, no corny one-liners like the custom was for those kind of movies and gave us a standard for movies of the genre. I can understand if someone doesn't like it, but compare it to Ghost Rider, Incredible Hulk, Fantastic Four, or Daredevil and it's spectacular.

well agree to disagree, and to those saying how the comic nerds complain or whatever, i think its safe to say marvel/dc could care less about the die-hard fans of these books, they already buy the books, they will almost definitely see the movies, they are trying to bring in a new generation to read their books. so you have to understand why these 'comic nerds' get upset, and get ignored at the same time.

I just don't understand why they're always crying. It's not a novel, it's a comic book. Sometimes it's best to just forget the source material, and treat the movie as a movie. It's not Raimi's fault that his movie isn't like pg. 12 in the comic book. It takes a lot more than reading the cartoons on the paper in order to bring the character to life in a full length movie, which many of the fanboys on IMDB fail to realize.

I like Sam Raimi. As mentioned before, he did lose his rhythm on "Spider-man 3" but only because he wanted to try something new with the series and it conflicted with everything else the studio wanted. The dancing was a guilty pleasure for me, but I don't think they'd let him do it again even if he did sign on for the next movie.
And dude, Darkman rocked.

I don't hate him, but I don't take him seriously as a director. I would never call any of his movies 'great' or 'classic' or barely noteworthy. I stand with the few and the proud group that despises Spider-Man, and I never understood the hype around Evil Dead, although I did laugh at some parts. He's not really even on my radar screen, he can do what he wants.
EDIT: Forgot about Darkman. Now why can't all his movies be like that?

Spider-Man 3 was a slight misstep, but the blame goes to Avi Arad for forcing Raimi to put Venom and Gwen Stacy in there. While Bryce was a fantastic Gwen, they should have saved her for another movie that wasn't so crowded. And Venom......oh Venom. The new cartoon series portrayed him better.

Raimi is a fluke? Have you seen any movies of his besides Spider-Man? One movie shouldn't tarnish a person's career that's been nothing but solid. Even Spielberg has had some stinkers: 1941, Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, A.I.

Writing is everything really and i think you see a differant writer Guru for 3 then Spiderman 1 and 2. The spirit of Raimi is there its just he was pressured to do more the one villain.
Batman its ok to attempt it but Spiderman should have went old school first.
This is how The Spiderman movies should have gone from 1-6 which Spiderman can do 6 movies in my opinion. For there are so many villains.
1 Green Goblin.
2 Dr Ock . Both good concepts cudos to Sam Rami.
3 Sandman was a good idead for should have been a loner .
4 The Lizard.
5 The King Pin.
6 Venom and Carnage both simbiots in one movie.

You are making yourself sound stupid. Comic books have proven that they can be just as meaningful and insightful as a novel, just like not every novel is profound. Sometimes it's just okay to forget the source material? Didn't everyone make a big fuss about how I Am Legend was changed from the novel? What if Peter Jackson took something like Lord of the Rings and said "You know what guys? **** it. Sam and Frodo are going to kiss on the top of Mount Doom, Aragorn dies in the first book, and Sauron is really Gandalf's father." People would be outraged.

Spiderman 3 was just poorly put together. And let people be upset about Venom. I don't follow Spiderman really, but I know enough to know that Venom is one of his biggest enemies, and he they shafted him. They blasted him in the marketing and he show up in the last 30 minutes and is deposed just as quickly. It would be like The Dark Knight bringing in the Joker and killing him off in the first 20 minutes. I'd say they are allowed to be pissed.

Yet Raimi gets the blame for it.
You'd think people would have never seen a hyped movie before to see that Spiderman 3 was a half-done force release mandated by Hollywood suits.
Raimi took his time with Spiderman 1 & 2 and they turned out fine. Spiderman 3 was rushed to get "a product" out and it showed.

How is me saying Batman Begins and Spider-Man are good movies have anything to do with comic book fans crying when their favorite hero isn't shown exact?
What I'm saying in terms of the source material is that's a comic book spans many different issues, and the popular ones have many different series. You cannot please everyone. People need to stop crying and get over this. I'm not saying completely change the story, I'm saying go in with an open mind that not everything is going to be exactly like the comic book they worship.
Talking down comics is immature? Haha, no explanation needed for that.
And no I won't criticize those people because they aren't the ones whining about every damn thing in a movie like these Marvel fans do. I'm a movie fan, not a comic book fan, I judge it as a movie and not the coloring book it was derived from. I could care less if Venom was or wasn't supposed to show up then, I'll let the comic fans whine and cry themselves to sleep that Raimi isn't any good when he's one of the better directors out there.

Lets get something straight, Saveus you can't make fun of V for Vendetta, overall it had a lot of great writing. A lot of the pen and drawings to me were weak and defeated the purpose of the Graphic Novel but overall it was an amazing piece, don't insult it please.
Graphic Novels are seperate from Comic Books I hate to break it to you Sno, you can simply see this because they have a seperate name from Comic Books to Graphic Novels. Graphic Novels are more than 20 pages longer and often the storyline and drawings are two times better. Its like the diffference between television show and a movie. So, you are wrong, look it up if you want to but Comic Books aren't even close to the same as Graphic Novels.

There's a major difference. I didn't complain about Hulk being a piece of **** because it didn't follow the comic book like most people did with Spider-Man. Hulk was awful, it's a terrible movie and where was I complaining? In fact, that doesn't even apply to what we're talking about.

Yes it did. You just complained about Saveus ability to complain about Comic Books and be another from your term '*****y a$$hole'. When merely you just complained about The Incredible Hulk, did you not?

What I'm saying is I critique a movie as a movie, not how accurate it is to the comic book and maybe that's why I found Spider-Man 3 to be a solid movie, not on the level of the first two, but still a good movie.

Because I don't like whiny comic book fans that's what you get? Well I guess that makes you one of those people that I like to call a dumbass. Actually worse, a whiny dumbass.
No you're problem is you think you know everything and you come off more ignorant because of it.
And to people who don't have bugs up their asses (i.e. - YOU) Hulk was pretty good.

Apparently, Saveus is telling the truth since The Incredible Hulk is recieving better reviews than what you gave it and the piss poor try that Ang Lee did. Again your ignorance is terrifying.

My ignorance? Little boy, do you even know what those big words you're speaking mean?
As for the reviews it does stand at 68% on RT, but the excerpts read: "It's okay, but I preferred Ang Lee's deep, yearning Hulk."
"The Incredible Hulk is often loud, and it can be quite dumb, but it's certainly not bloated."
"The movie is about as good as a dumb action flick with a pathetically computer-rendered monster could be."
And these are the positive reviews.

Little Boy, and you are what?17 possible, you guys forget I easily out mass you weight and height. My shoe is probably the length of your torso. Don't dare call me a little boy for the lack of ignorance you have and yes you do lack intelligence. Calling a Comic Book a Graphic Novel is lack of intelligence. Comparing The Incredible Hulk to Ang Lee's Hulk, is if you haven't guessed yet, lack of intelligence.

Are you calling yourself fat? Wow, I'm so scared a little fat kid.
You want to talk lack of intelligence? Well I would say you clamoring that the new Indiana Jones movie is a masterpiece is pretty stupid or also the fact that it's a struggle putting together your sentences since it's seems like your stubby fingers must just mash together words and hope it makes sense for the person reading it. And comparing a Hulk movie to another Hulk movie displays lack of intelligence? Yeah you're right, they're both totally different, what was I thinking?

HAHAH, I love how in your mentality you think making fun of my weight will sour me down to lose in a debate but I'm not ignorant and self loathing like yourself. And if you think 6'3, 230 is fat than you Mr have issues.
I never once ever said that Indiana Jones was a masterpiece, it had some of the most ridiculosis moments in film at times and it wasn't 1/100th what Raiders was, I know that and I have accepted that. Atleast I wasn't the jackass who walked in, 'This is the next Raiders!!'. I think it's time you just face it, your going against a Mountain when it comes to Ang Lee's Hulk vs The Incredible Hulk. Ang Lee's attempt just came out as Bruce Banner being a whiner.

Comic Book nerd?Seriously are you trying to go back to High School call outs, seriously?Getting laid again seriously you have no problem with that, hell the amount you complain and rate things, I bet you can't get a girl to go home with you without, "The date is like a 6/10 and the movie was horrible so, lets have sex". Yeah, good luck with that. Also, I atleast have some decentcy to stay away from your mother.

You keep using ignorant, do you even know what you're talking about? And all I was given based on your description of yourself was that you were a giant and your shoe was larger than me, sorry if I misjudged.
I never went in thinking that movie would be as good as the original, but it's reasonable to go into a successful franchise's latest movie with expectations. And where are you getting that I think Ang Lee's version is any good? It wasn't.

So a person still in high school is talking about high school remarks? Hmmm. Trust me, I have no problems with girls, I'm sorry if that breaks your heart. And that sounds like a good nite if I get sex after the date even if it was horrible. Isn't that the goal anyways?

Well, I wouldn't have to use ignorant if I was talking to a different individual but I'm talking to you and that fits the profile well. Yes, you did misjudge but again what am I suppose to get from a person who eats quarters and calls others Comic Book nerds like we are some bad mid 80s teen movie.

No because woman aren't freaking soda cans that you suck down and toss away, comon decentcy is something you don't have and lack. So what If I'm in high school, I'm sure as hell way more mature than you are, Mr. I use girls and think I'm a badass.

Sam Raimi is my favorite director, Evil Dead 2 inspired me to get into filmmaking.
Spidey 3 wasn't bad...it just had too much stuff crammed in and it suffered because of it.

Yeah, I really do think Venom was just an Executive write on. I think it was pretty enjoyable, pretty funny as well.

:funny: I don't know where that came from either, but I got a laugh out of it.
I think the only way Raimi could've pulled off a decent Venom was if he had introduced Eddie Brock in the first Spider-Man, and then continue building his character throughout the trilogy until he is taken over by the symbiote in Spider-Man 3.
But I'm not a big Venom fan in the first place, and I'm not sure he really had a place in this trilogy. I think the Raimi hate-train is fairly unjustified because most people (myself included) enjoyed the first two films. The main problem with the third is that it tried to do too much in too little time.
