Braindead/Dead Alive (Peter Jackson movie)

The two pre-LOTR Peter Jackson movies I'd seen before were Heavenly Creatures and The Frighteners with Michael J. Fox.

Dead Alive is a movie I've been hearing a lot about over the years. Didn't get a chance to see it till tonight on IFC. And, wow, Peter Jackson completely ripped off Sam Raimi with this movie. It's like Evil Dead, but with zombies and a hero who's not Bruce Campbell. lol. But it does have its moments. I liked when the priest said, "I kick ass in the name of the Lord." lol. And the baby was pretty cool.

I've seen it and loved it. Dead Alive is a lot of fun, its comical and has plenty of gore. There are some great one-liners, like the one you mentioned. So if you like Re-Animator (which I do), then you might like Dead Alive.

Kick ass movie. All of peter Jackson movies own. But Braindead is my favorite of his as far as the low budget gore movies go. Meet the Feebles and Bad Taste are good in there silly own way.

This movie is good, but I agree that the Evil Dead series pretty much set the tone for others to follow.

I haven't seen Heavenly Creatures but I really enjoyed The Frighteners and it was great to see Michael J. Fox in a solid movie again.

The Frighteners was great, and Heavenly Creatures was great as well but very very disturbing because it is a true story.
