So the marketing isn't getting you interested?

The word on the street giving you doubt?

The trailer looks too corny and you fear Hollywood is raping your movie with it's pressing PG-13 rating system for everything? Fear not, because a "Red Band" trailer is coming out which will group together a crap load of F'Bombs and Kill-Shots. It'll please your senses with mindblowing violence and blood-filled death scenes. But is it enough for you to buy into the craze of the film and spend your hard earned cash on a film just because you saw a trailer that showed a film's gory insides? Not for me. Not in the least! They fill a trailer with gore and blood and call it restricted, then go on to tell you that it's only the half of it. But what about story? What about characterization? What about actor/actress abilities? I'm sick and tired of Hollywood coming up with new ways to get your hardworking cashflow!

This has been an uninspiring rant brought to you in part, by me.

Don't bother with the intelligent replies, I know I sound pathetic.

I love that red band trailer for Child's Play 3 (terrible movie though) where Chucky said: "Don't f**k with the Chuck!"

I don't really see the point in those trailers. So they show some kills and have some bad words? Big deal. That's not why I'm watching movies. No reason why a trailer that's been approved for all audiences would be considered inferior to a lame one with a weak attempt to shock you.

I'm new to the scene.
My first red band trailer was No Country For Old Men, which was off the charts great.

it gives them more leeway to throw in whatever they want, if they think the demographic will be suckered into the movie with an r rated trailer, then why not?
