I was skimming through my TV and I briefly stopped on a non commercial movie channel that was playing Jaws: The Revenge( the worst movie ever made). And it was towards the ending, but I noticed something different. I don't know what they did, but they turned a stupid film into an ultra film of stupidity. They changed the ending. Now when the boat pierces the shark, the shark blows up..... Last time I checked, the shark spits up blood and sinks into the ocean with part of the boat. But now.....it blows up.......I know the movie is horrible, but come on. They didn't have to increase the stupidity. Sheesh. But who cares, the movie is still the worst thing ever made. I was just wondering when did they decide to change the ending and when did this change occur.

Maybe you were watching the original and didn't know it.

No, it was Jaws: The Revenge. I saw Michael Caine.

Actually, I believe that that exploding shark is the original ending...as bad as it may be. The other ending (the spitting up blood, sinking into the ocean, etc) is actually a different ending most often used for TV broadcasts.

sometimes a little research goes a long ways.......

"""Several different versions of the film exist. The most significant changes are at the end of the film. In the original ending, Ellen rammed the shark with Michael's boat, mortally wounding it. The shark then caused the boat to break apart with its death contortions, forcing the people on the boat to jump off to avoid going down with it.[2] The ending had left many people confused. In his scathing review, Roger Ebert says that he cannot believe "that the director, Joseph Sargent, would film this final climactic scene so incompetently that there is not even an establishing shot, so we have to figure out what happened on the basis of empirical evidence."[19]

After test screenings, the studio had the producers reshoot the ending. In this version, the shark is again rammed, only this time its head violently explodes with no apparent cause, destroying the boat in the process. (Obvious miniatures were used for the reshoot.) Also added to this ending was footage from the first film of the dead shark sinking, and a scene where Mario Van Peebles' character, who had been clearly seen to be mauled and dragged underwater by the shark (even in the re-edited version), suddenly surfaces alive because test audiences liked the character and did not enjoy seeing him die. With this, the directors had Lorraine Gary edit her voice in a sound box during where Ellen is saying her goodbyes to her family and Lorraine says in the sound box "Take good care of Jake" so that everybody knows Jake is still alive."""

As I said, it went from dumb to very stupid. How does a shark blow up when you ram into it? That can't happen. Aw, who cares, it's just the worst movie ever made.
