Just read where these film are considered the turkeys of 2006.
All the kings Men: Domestic gross 5 mil....budget 70....
Fountain: Domestic gross 9 mil....budget ....60
Freedomland: 12 mil
Good Year: 7 mil
Lady in the Water: 42 mil
Wicker Man: 23 mil
Flushed Away: 61 mil
Poseidon: 60 mil
Flyboys: 13 mil
I would say (having seen the films) that Flyboys and Flushed Away though not particularly good films deserved a bigger audience.

Only 2 films I enjoyed out of that bunch. 'Poseidon' and 'Lady In The Water' to a degree. That movie 'Freedomland'. BOOOOOOOORING.

All The King's Men made $7,221,458 (budget was only $55 million)
The Fountain made $9,856,091 (budget was only 35 million)
and lady in the water deserved to flop...movie was worst than "the village"

I didn't even bother with Lady in the Water. The more films M. Night makes, the more I think he's a complete hack. The only movie of his really worth watching is the Sixth Sense, and I don't even know why he has such a rabid fan base that defends his mediocre movies to such a degree.
And I wanted to see A Good Year, I'll definitely rent it, with a Russell Crowe/Ridley Scott lineup, I don't see how it can really be THAT bad.

You are so right. I posted "Basic Instinct 2" budget (which i also forgot to mention was listed as the second rated turkey of the year) in the "All the Kings Mens" spot. Thanks for the correction.
A Good Year was a great film. Not exactly amazing but it was nice and light. It amazes me what movies people would rather see. Sometimes word of mouth can just be as bad as published reviews, Ebert, Maltin etc.

A Good Year looked way too cliche to me. The most common "fish out of water" story. Reminds me of "Doc Hollywood".

I thought FA should have made much more money. Pity families preferred Santa Clause 3 over FA in early November.
I'll rent The Fountain on Netflix considering the good reviews I heard.
I didn't see LitW but my mom saw it and thought it was awful...and she likes Shymalan's movies.

The Fountain so doesn't deserve to be on that list. :(
I thought I read somewhere that Flushed Away had a lot of re-writes done because Dreamworks thought the humor was too British and wanted to Americanize it a bit. I saw an early trailer where the movie had a different opening (Roddy had 2 hamster butlers). That could be what drove up the budget on that one. Still, it was my favorite animated movie this year.

A Good Year has worldwide box office of $29 million and a cost of $35 million and it hasn't even opened in France or Japan yet. It had very high feedback ratings from the people who did actually see it. Might do better on DVD because it's intended audience isn't the type to rush out to theaters.

Hoodwinked that SUCKED!
yeah but it made money. This is about movies that (if they sucked or not) didn't make money. Hoodwinked drew all the kiddies in, and raked it in, though not as much as say Cars or Happy Feet.
and don't count The Fountain out quite yet. It still hasn't ended its run yet. the theater my roommate works at still has it, and the theater I work at only just got rid of it to get Dreamgirls on christmas. It still has a chance.

Yeah I think Russell Crowe at this point sorta has that "guy" crowd. Although this is could be a good break for him, I didn't expect it to do well simply due to him being in a drama.

I enjoyed All the Kings Men, maybe a little to heavy for a mainstream audience. The Fountain I just forgot to go see, I guess that is why it is a turkey. Poseidon, run of the mill, Wickerman, same crap different day, Flushed Away, just one too many animated features lately, they can not all be good, or even watchable.

The movie that desrved to flop is Basic Instinct 2: Risk Addiction. That movie is going to win all the razzies this year.

I personally enjoyed All The King's Men, Freedomland, and Lady In The Water the most out of this group. For "All The King's Men", you have to know what to expect and you have to really pay attention; if you do those things, then the film is really good.
Freedomland was nowhere near as bad as everyone said. I read the novel before I saw the film and was really engrossed in both of them. Although there were moments where it tried too hard to mimick "Crash", it was still a good drama.
I must admit that "Lady In The Water" wasn't quite what I expected, it was still great for what it was. I don't see what everyone's problem is over this movie; in fact, I watched it again on DVD the other night, and I think it got even better the second time around. M. Night Shyamalan really is one of the best writer/directors around now.
i really enjoyed poisiden. not a new concept in any way, but entertaining none the less!!!

The Fountain was a very inventive, experimental film. Of course it's going to flop. Nonetheless, I'd rather see a film aim high and miss than a film that plays it safe. A very good film.

Don't get me started on Little Man. By far the worst film I've seen all year. I don't know why I bothered to see it especially when I knew it was gonna be bad anyway.
