 Has anyone seen Deck the Halls?
I went to see it hoping to add some festive cheer to help lift the burden of the Christmas shopping experience - it didnt really help.
I have seen this list on alt-flix.co.uk which is basically an advent calendar of 24 films Gaurenteed to make you feel Chritmassy. Its recomendations are on the whole pretty good (and there are also some really funny comments thrown in for good measure).
What are the films you want when you want to feel Christmassy?
My Top 3 would be 1. Its A Wonderfull Life 2. National Lampoons 3. The Nightmare before Christmas.
let m eknow what you think.;)

I agree, the list should begin and end with It's a Wonderful Life. But to flesh it out a bit, add 2) National Lampoons and the only Dickens interpretation that matters: 3) Scrooged.

first and foremost, A Charlie Brown Christmas is by far the best Christmas special, movie, cartoon, whatever--hands down!
others: HOME ALONE!! (1&2), Nightmare Before Christmas, The Santa Clause (I know, I know), Just Friends (if that counts as a christmas movie), and Scrooge/Christmas Carol ('51)
The animated The Snowman (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Snowman) would probably be my number one choice. There is something magical in that story and the way that it is told.
It's a Wonderful Life is of course very good at getting that Christmas feeling going, as well.

Emmet Otter's Jug Band Christmas was always a Christmas staple when I was a kid. I've found that not too many other people know about it. Anyone? Maybe it's just me but I never liked It's a Wonderful Life. It's just too sentimental. Christmas Vacation is definately up there. Honestly, I think Elf will become a holiday tradition in years to come.

Santa Claus (1985) - It brings back memories of being a care free kid at christmas and I've just always liked that movie. I think because Dudley Moore is well funny in it.

I absolutely agree with your Tenenbaums selection. It's a matter of feeling rather than content.
I'm going to go with Charlie Brown (which is probably a cop-out), or any most Hitchcock (maybe a stretch). Hitchcock because my family always watches Hitchcock together around the X-mas time season.
