View Full Version : Favorite Hannibal Lecter Film

Due to the upcoming release of the prequel "Hannibal Rising" (opening February 9, 2007), I thought it would be appropriate to ask what is your favorite film featuring the infamous cannibalistic doctor?


Side Note: "Hannibal Rising" will be the second Hannibal Lecter-centered movie to open on the date of February 9 as the sequel "Hannibal" hit theaters on February 9, 2001.

silence of the lambs just had a better feel for it than the others. they were all good tho

The Silence of the Lambs was the best BY FAR. Fallowed by Manhunter, then by Hannibal, then Red Dragon.

Still haven't seen Manhunter, but I'm still partial to Hannibal. Silence of the Lambs just never grabbed me (I enjoyed it, but I mean, it never really "grabbed" me the way great films do), probably a flaw in seeing many of its followers than the movie itself until much later. People criticize Hannibal for being more of a generic slasher, but I disagree, I found it rich and artful. Ratner's was much more paint-by-numbers, although the ending "got" me twice, actually (both times I saw it) and Norton is pretty cool.

Haven't seen Manhunter, but I enjoyed all the sequels.

What's with all your polls newbie?

Still I chose Silence of the Lambs. People give Hannibal a lot of flack but I actually quite liked it. Must watch it again someday. Red Dragon too was pretty good and I still haven't seen Manhunter.

Silence is by far the BEST movie of the bunch.. but Red Dragon maybe my favorite

I HATE MANHUNTER... and yes I saw it before Red Dragon
