Small article in a local paper today reported that Hayden Christensen thinks ROTS may be his last movie. He is no longer interested in acting and/or Hollywood, and wants to become an architect.
I guess this doesn't make for an exciting thread, but thought some of you might be interested.

Well, I'm certian that he probably made enough from Star Wars that there is probably no need for him to be in a hurry to find another job anyway. ;)

Didn't Jake Lloyd do a similar thing?...He quit acting a few years after TPM I think.

Ah, he'll probably follow in the path of the Hamill and make bad B-movies before settling in a career as a dependable voice actor. It is his destiny.

Jake Lloyd did a bunch of voice overs for SW video games - as for many child stars, I bet other parts just dried up for him. he's only like 15 now - and didn't have the star appeal as someone like Dakota Fanning does

Yeah, I just saw that on IMDB, too. Maybe that's his last one.

I hope this isn't true. Hayden is a good actor. Sad he wasn't able to really cut loose until the last 20 minutes of Sith. I just watched Shattered Glass again yesterday on HBO and he is real good in that. Shame GL has a hard time directing real live people.

i agree, he's a really good actor. just not in SW.

I think he did a fine job in revenge of the sith, he was a better anakin then i was expecting him to be.

As for saying thats his last movie its hard to say, he might just say that now and and he could end up acting in all kinds of movies, you never know.

maybe he meant no more big blockbuster movies.

Brad Pitt wants to be an architect, too.

As an architect myself, I can safely say it's not all it's cracked up to be, and I'd gladly switch places with them. Brad, Hayden, give me a call.

I doubt this is true. It would be extremely random if he did state it, because in all other past interviews talking about what he'll do in the future, he has made no implication that he'll stop acting (by meaning, when asking what he'll do in the future, what movies he'll do, not his life in general).

I think he'll be doing quite a few B-rate movies. Possibly hit the a list once or twice more, but I don't think he's done with acting.

I would have thought star wars has paved the way for him to be a huge star. We all know deep down he is a good actor and star wars has given him alot of attention (though I guess alot of it is negative). But hey, if architecture's his thing...

Look, although directors provide artistic guidance, they don't cause someone to "act bad". While poor direction can contribute to an actor's performance, there's no hiding of the actor's natural talent. You can't fake that.

Yes, but Lucas wasn't just the director on the PT, he was also the writer.

Acting depends on a lot of things. Reactions to other actors, sets, the quality of the written dialogue, etc. The reason LOTR was so much better was not because the actors are any better it's because all of the sets were real, and the dialogue was written and rewritten over and over again by a team of talents, not just one selfish person. Having real sets gives a feeling of reality that allows people to act properly during the scene. It gets them into character with that much more depth. When everything's blue screen, it's hard to act and react properly. And when the dialogue is that bad, what are you gonna do?

watch "Shattered Glass".
I haven't seen it, so I can't really judge, but does acting decent in one movie really qualify you as a good actor?

Hey! My mom told me I was a great Santa Claus in my 2nd grade school play-- don't you dare imply that I'm not a good actor just because I haven't done anything worthwhile since then!!

he was also good in "Life as a House".

and there's alot of talented actors in the PT that dont give good performances either. Sam Jackson, Ewan McGregor and Natile Portman are all good outside SW.

The original was rated R. Can't wait!!

And he can come and design my dream home any day of the week. No complaints here.

Hayden's Next Film

Posted By Joshua on May 30, 2005
The Sun-Times is reporting on Hayden's next film - sounds like this one is quite a departure from Star Wars:

He's good, he's bad. Who can keep track? Hayden Christensen, Anakin Skywalker/Darth Vader in "Star Wars: Episode III -- Revenge of the Sith," has found there is life after going to the Dark Side. He will star with hottie-du-jour Mischa Barton in "Decameron."

His sci-fi fans might want to sit down now: The boy wonder plays one of two young Florentines who must cope in the Italian countryside, which has been hit by a black plague. "It's a sexy comedy about adventure and love," Christensen says, adding, "There are no Jedis around."

Speaking of Jedi fallout, the Toronto native says that "Star Wars" "has put me on a higher playing ground. I was eager to take advantage of this phenomenon and started a production company." His fame doesn't mean he's gossip-column fodder. "I just turned 24. I'm single," he says. "I don't even go out that much." Yes, he lives at home with his parents.

Watch it, its a good film.
He does a damn fine job in that movie...that neednt mean hes a good actor, but it proves that he IS capable of decent acting and with proper guidance good performance is sort of guaranteed...
