I've read things sprinkled in here and there amongst different threads but I wanted to have everybody (who knows) put all of the info in one spot.. so here's the question:
what's in the works for the star wars saga to continue? I read something about a mini-series (kind of like stargate or something like that) and I've heard of a cartoon. make sure to add details of when it's supposed to be taking place (before I, inbetween episode III and IV, after VI, etc.)
thanks

There is a live action tv series in the works taking place between ROTS and ANH. There is also a coming CGI show set during the clone wars. As far as I'm aware that's all that's planned at the moment.

thanks for the info guys...
actually, I just thought of a problem with my own question. if anything is set to take place inbetween III and IV it wouldn't include Jedi's (unless it's Obi-Wan sittin' around on Tatooine or Yoda kickin' it on Degoba) because they're all gone... until luke and lea come along in IV.

Well, in the novels some other Jedi go into hiding as well. The beacon code message was changed too so there is their out for permitting some to survive

That wouldn't necessarily be a bad thing. A lot of people actually preferred the OT over the PT, and which had more Jedi? So I think the show could work with a good mix of rebel soldiers, imperials, interesting bounty hunters, etc. And, as Ramplate said, there could still be a couple of Jedi lingering around somewhere.

If the movie fits in with the new wave of SW products this summer, then it's certain there'll be Jedi in the show.

I'd like to see more on the Bounty Hunters and Rebellion angle. Maybe a few Obi and Yoda appearances to see
what they did for 20 years. I'm sure they could get Ewan to do a couple episodes. Since they are filming the whole series at one time. Ofcourse a few Vader appearances to show some since of the empire.

Maybe a couple here and there, but keep in mind, the show needs to make a transition into the OT, so Jedi certainly shouldn't be prominent. There should be a definite shift in focus from Jedi to rebel soldiers and imperial officers.
I would really prefer to see more stuff about bounty hunter and soldiers, anyway, so I hope I'm right!

Yeah, I would think Jimmy Smits should be in the series. He seems to be a key figure in forming the rebellion. Maybe the woman who played Mon Mothma in ROTS (and who was ultimately cut from the film), could bring Mon Mothma to the series. And the Captain Antilles should be there, along with C3PO and R2D2.

You can bet if they do anything with Jedi - they will have them being very quiet so as not to give away their true nature. Therefore, bounty hunters will make a large part of it I'd imagine.
The Star Wars Galaxies game takes place in the same era and if you get to become Jedi - you have to keep it a secret or the bounty hunter players DO come after you. Revealing one's self to be Jedi is deadly - you'd better know who your friends are.

Another thing they could do --- is have an appearance of a young Han Solo sometime along the way - Solo was once in the Imperial Navy

See, I think along with whatever mythology the show decides to follow, assuming it will be the birth of the rebellion and the rise of the empire, that we'll see stand alone episodes where we might see Han meet Chewie, or Boba Fett (I'd like to see one where Fett has to hunt a young Han) and eventually Yoda going to Dagobah and maybe an explanation of the cave.
Just my opinion though, you know Lucas, he'll cram as much as he can into 100 episodes.

true... there were TONS more jedi in I-III than in IV-VI. but back when the first movies came out, we didn't know any different... at least I didn't. I never read the books or comic books or anything like that, so I didn't know that obi-wan and yoda were all that was left of a vast jedi "army." but whatever happens to continue the saga, it needs to include jedi because all the youngn's aren't going to watch it purely for it's political ramifications.
the idea of having a young han solo wouldn't be bad, but again, it'd need to have some jedi stuff sprinkled in. how about showing all of the jedi's that did escape "order 66" so that way, we'd all know that luke and lea aren't the only 2 jedi's left in the galaxy when we watch IV-VI... that way, if there ever was to be a VII-IX, then we'd know how the jedi rejeuvenated their numbers.
just a thought
