A simple question for all fans who saw the latest Star Wars movie. I know that all the jedi were wiped out but two. So truely the Sith did have there revenge. Yet without the clones they could not have truely won the war. Take Obi Wan and Anakins duel. Even though Anakin was stronger then Obi and had a few good licks in. I say that it was Obi best duel of them all. I think Obi controled that whole duel for he did not loose control.

Next the Emperor versus Yoda duel. I really considered that a draw for an example when Yoda formed the lightning ball from Sidius's own attack. I was certain that hey he can win. I think if Yoda had not lost his balance. The ou come may have been differant. I was pleased that they showed that Yoda was just as strong as Sidius. Sure he did through several senate seats but Yoda spinned the seat he tossed. I am pro Yoda all the way but i am sure some will say Yoda lost. For even he said that he Failed.

Was there any reason for Yoda to spin the senate platform?

No.

No.

Not really but I thought it was a semi cool moment

Yoda gave up waaaay to easily. I didn't get it. It's like, his coat fell off, so he lost his power. Then he's like, "Failed I have. Into exile, I must go." Huh? He barely fought Sidious to the extent of his power, IMHO. Why didn't he just pick up his lightsaber, jump back up and get to the fighting?

He did lose his lightsaber as well. He realized he wasn't strong enough to defeat Sidious at that point. After he fell, the clone army arrived. He couldnt fight off both the army and Sidious. Plus he probably didnt feel like making his way back up to the top of the Senate to reach him. Lol. Lazy bastard. ;)

His lightsaber fell to the ground, the ante chamber under the senate room. I don't see how it's lost, couldn't he just pick it up, or even use the force to get it?

yoda was probably very very drained mentally, physically, and psychically, remember he isnt a spring chicken, even for his species, not to mention the wallop he must have gotten from the force after mace and all the other jedi were annihilated and the very strenous battle with palpatine, add all that up and i am betting he just couldnt fight much more even if he was armed, but thats just my take

I think Yoda knew he couldn't win the fight. He'd lost his saber and his stick. And losing his robe was probably a sign of defeat for a jedi or something.

And as for why did he spin the pod. Because it looked cool. Basically.

Yoda wasn't even originally in Star Wars. Before Lucas split it up into three movies, there was no Yoda, and Ben lived all the way to the third act. Originally he died at the time Yoda dies. I think we all know that Lucas made up the PT just to help himself write the OT. Yoda probably wasn't even originally in the PT either, and it really could have been made without Yoda. Than, he puts Yoda up against the Emperor, but both of them have to survive. The fact that the strongest Jedi and the strongest Sith lord go up against each other and both survive makes for an anti-climactic battle. The movie could have done fine without the battle at all actually, but I still enjoyed it.

Effects Guy: So George, why is the pod spinning again?

GL: Because its gonna look cool.

EG: Yeah, but is there any point to it?

GL: Cause it'll look cool in the movie.

EG: whatever you say George, whatever you say.

A spinning projectile is much more dangerous than a still one.

Obi Wan clearly could have force pushed Anakin into the lova. But for two reasons he did not. One being Obi Wan would never do that. He is not a vengful fighter. Except for the Darth Maul Duel. Secondly Obi Wan even then didn't want to kill Anakin. I think also it was the same way in a New Hope. I think he let Vader win for more then the escape reason.

Sorry this has been mentioned millions of times but people keep assuming that Mace windu was winning the fight against Palpatine. He was nowhere near in charge of their battle. Palpatine sensed Anakin coming so HE PUT ON A SHOW! plain and simple. he could have eliminated Mace at any given moment but he wanted this to be the moment Anakin turned to the darkside.

I say he was beat when he lost his lightsaber, but Anakin opened the window for Palpatine to use his force lightning.

Ummm no, Mace broke the window when he swung his lightsaber across it.

Actually Mace's mouth is What got him killed. I wonder if the out come would have been the same with Obi Wan or Yoda in Windus place. For they weren't as harsh like Windu was to Anakin. Mace was a bit or grump and and Anakin could sense Mace's dislike and mistrust in Anakin. If the Emperor could win why did he let Mace mess up his face. I think If Mace and Yoda had faced him the Empire would have fallen before it begun.

Why is their a discussion on this anyone who saw the movie knows the Jedi won of course.

When Darth Vader threw The Emporer down the shaft just to save Luke was the greatest. Anyone who thought that the Jedi lost that fight is an idiot.

How on earth was it a tie? That doesn't make any sense at all Mace would have slaughterd him if Anakin hadn't chopped his arm off!

I'd have to say the Sith won... considering they took over the galaxy for 20ish years...

Obi Wan actaully told us what Anakin is suppose to do to the sith lord. So in a way the jedi being obi wan planted the seed of the Emperors demise. Obi Wan should have came back as a Ghost when Luke was being shocked. So maybe it would have influenced Vader to kill the Emperor.

I am saying the jedi never lost the war but the first battles. For Luke by Obi Wans influences and Yodas training won many battles. A destroying the death star. However in the end Anakin at last did what Obi said in this film. Is he not the chosen one. Is he not to destroy the sith and bring balance back to the force. Obi later says he has never let me down. In a way Anakin did and didn't

I think we're talking in the context of the battles at the end of Sith as far as who won, here, right? Obi Wan walked away from flaming skywalker thinking he was dead. I don't think he walked away thinking, "He'll do the right thing if it takes 20 years whatever"....

Obi and Yoda were defeated by the Sith at the end of this movie, but as the saying goes, the war was just beginning.
