Well, since the one dude above said he didn't see Troy, his vote shouldn't count and that would make it 6-6. And I vote for Hector vs. Achilles, which would make it the winner, but you can continue however you see fit ;) .

I'll go with the one from AOTC. While the dock battle was good, I just couldn't follow much of what was happening. Lucas may have started it, but the dock battle was the first time I actually sat and thought "Goodness, that's just too much CGI!"

first off, definitely the duel of fates battle...matrix sucked.

This is so difficult. I love both the battles, but since the black gates wastn't the main one in the movie im going with the last samurai. It was pretty emotional.

Actually, i'll say Rotk on this one, i haven' seen The Last Samurai so discount my vote if its close, but I got teary eyed a total of 4 times the first time i saw Rotk in theatres and that inital charge on foot of everyone was on of the times. Really well done, the action was pretty good, the outcome was so so, but the emotion was all there. ROTK




ON a side note: i don't know if you already have this all figured out, but i hope you have some older movies too lined up, like lawrence of Arabia has got some amazing battles even by todays standards, just curious.

D Day hands down, most intense battle i've ever seen on film. LOTR is fantastic, and the battles may be hard to beat in that, but i was really just so impressed with the opening of saving private ryan.

and is it worth it to rent troy for the battles, i've heard a lot of bad things about it, but i'm a sucker for action so should i rent it?

I mean´t that in reality 15 soldiers with one bazooka, can´t inflict that kind of losses on an enemy that superior, there were something like 50++ german soldiers, 2 Tiger`s and 2? Tank Destroyers. I agree that it looks VERY real but the the results of the battle is very unrealistic.
