Does anyone know exactly how big Kong is? Is he like the size of a T-rex or maybe bigger like Godzilla? I've never seen the original, how big is he there?

was he that height in the original or the new one coming out? Can you be more specific?

His height in the original film was - 18' feet tall in the jungle scenes and 24' tall in the city scenes.
Merian C. Cooper thought he looked a little too small in the city scenes so he had his scale bumped up to 24 feet.

Im guessing hes gonna be a heck of a lot more bigger in this new one.

actually from the footprints we've seen and some of the clues on the production diaries... A good guess would be about 25' to 30'
I always thought the 1976 Kong (50 ft) was just waaaay too huge... It somehow ruins the relationship between Kong and Ann if their size ratio is so absurdly different..

No, he's about this big -

The Kong in the 1976 remake was about 50 feet tall. If he were that tall in the upcoming movie that would mean there wouldnt be much of a fight if he was fighting a normal sized (abouy 18ft tall) T-rex.
Also, the movie poster from the 1976 Kong shows him being about 300 feet tall. That's how tall he would need to be to span the entire gap between the world trade center. That's just ridiculously too big.

He's gonna fight a T-Rex?
You mean on the island when they first find him?

If the story is close to the original he'll also be fighting an Elasmasaur and a Pteradactyl.... And if Jackson decides to go a step further he might add the deleted scenes from the original where Kong fights a Triceratops.
The T-rex scene has already been confirmed (He actually might fight 3 T-rexs at one time)

A water reptile and a flying reptile. If you believe that Dinasurs and these others are reptiles.

I've already seen the pic before. Now I have a much better sense of how big he is. I do have a question about the type of movie it is going to be. I know its adventure, but is it also an action, romantic, or thriller type of movie?

The original was called a mix of Horror, slight romance and adventure on the DVD, so I assume this will be the same.

King Kong in the original is supposed to be like 50 feet tall. However in King Kong Vs. Godzilla to make it fair they made him like 400 feet tall to fight Godzilla.

Anyone else think it's odd to refer to a remake as an "The most exciting ORIGINAL motion picture event"??

According to one article discussing the visual effects, it was mentioned that Mighty Joe Young was 15 feet tall. Here are some pictures for reference.

Didn't one of the characters in the film estimate his height as around 40 feet tall, based on his 6 feet long footprint?
Raziel
02-13-2005, 02:25 AM
No need to estimate.... It's already been confirmed by Jackson thqat Kong will be the same size as he was in the original film (Well, a foot taller).
25 ft tall.
Also, I wouldn't try scaling Kongs size from those illustrations.
Those are environmental light /color study concept illustrations used to get an idea for the look of the scenery and mood. Those aren't character designs. As a matter a fact the final look for Kong hasn't even been aproved by Jackson yet.
