Oh the Horror- Cheap Boxset with no feature Scares Me, August 2, 2004

When I found out Paramount was releasing a Friday the 13th box set, I was really excited. After learning the history and seeing what they are releasing, I'm extremely disappointed. If you don't own the movies, but want to pick them up cheap then this is the box set for you. If you want a boxset loaded with features, commentaries, and deleted scenes you'll be disappointed. 1. This boxset has 8 movies- 2 movies per disk 2. Paramount only recorded 4 out of 8 commentaries, and they were for the worst films in the set- 3, 6, 7, 8. 3. No kind of DTS or Doolby Surround 4. Basic clips of deleted footage. No effort was made to release the films uncut- which was the reason this boxset was supposedly being released according to paramount last year. No effort to even restore the scenes with a seamless branching option. 5. Paramount basically put no effort into this boxset- all the featurettes are based upon interviews of cast members all from one fan convention.
If you don't have the first 8 friday movies, but are tired of waiting for them- pick this up. After all it is cheap. Don't expect anything much more than the movies though.
