Hey everyone.
I need some help.Just bought the Robocop Trilogy on DVD.
Is it me or Kevin Smith has a cameo in Robocop 2 ? In the scene with all the techniciens with Robocop when he stands up , just before he goes for the high voltage system to electrify himself for a reboot.(He's on the right side of the screen ).
Thanx in advance for any tips.

Well it doesn't list any cameos of him on IMDB, so I'm gonna say that it's a big no.

Yeah,I've checked also before putting this thread.....But look at the movie scene I'm talking about (First time at 57:10 - behind the fence on the left,Second time at 57:19 - Same place but standing up,Third time at 57:25 - this time on the right side of the screen)If it's not him......It's a clone.

Kevin Smith wasn't even a filmmaker when this movie was made. If anything he was probably an extra.

That's what I tought . But nowhere can he be found in any credits (extras, cameos, web facts.)
Anybody in the house can confirm with me ?

Not that this is important. The idea of finding it, is for the fun of having it ask to other people as tricky question for ''mister know it all''. ( Like schawrzenegger's cameo in Titanic ).But first I need a confirmation.

First off he didn't go to Film school until 1991 or 1992 and that is not him.lol.
Plus that movie was filmed in 1989 when he was 19 and Smith was still into comic books working at the video store and hanging out at the mall.
And he would have mentioned this on his many commentaries and even on "AN EVENING WITH KEVIN SMITH" , he loves to bring up cool **** from the past but this is not him so nuff said.

Not really I really don't know anything but I fake it well but I do know that Kevin Smith did not cameo in Robocop 2 because "Cameo" means one would have had to have been a star prior to said role.
Which he was not.

He is Cameron's boy after all.

Swarzenegger is in Titanic drinking beers with Cameron at the dance party with all the poors people. He's in the back wearing a beard. And for me CAMEO comes from a fact that you only see a glimpse of someone popular but that he's not supposed to be there....GET IT !

I don't know, my idea of a cameo is a known person that makes a brief appearance in a movie, whether they directly affect the storyline or not.
Otherwise, what you're saying is Anchorman also co-starred Jack Black and Ben Stiller.

Which contridicts the whole point of this thread...Kevin Smith did not get popular until 1994 after realeasing Clerks at Film Festivels.
Trust me , he wasn't in Robocop 2 , at that time he was probably drunk somewhere in a ditch with Mewes.

Dude , get over it I know what scene it is , it's not Smith , he was only 18-19 when that movie was filmed , it's not him.
He was still working at the video / convenience store. He was not in the film industry at all.
If you want proof then E-mail Smith at his website
Viewaskew.com. He'll gladly prove you wrong. He may post this stuff at his site seeing it's so hilarious.
If I owned the DVD I'd screencap it for you to show everyone.

Quentin Tarantino was still working at the video store when he played one of many Elvis' on the Golden Girls.
