No extras at all, how much would you pay?

No extras? $30.

Do you mean completely original? As in no touch-ups at all (image quality and sound being the same as it was in 1977)? If so, maybe $20... less if I could find them used on Amazon or somewhere.

well recently i just paid $45 for the OT transfers from the Laserdisc's to DVD. has all the original stuff including Han shoots first, no scream when Luke falls, and the Ewok Celebration song. no touch ups. im just waiting to get it in the mail now
i think your best shot of finding the OT transfers to DVD would be eBay

I think he means an official, Lucasfilm DVD release of the original, untouched trilogy, with newly remastered anamorphic widescreen transfers from Lowry Digital Images and new re-mixed DD-EX tracks.

I thought you guys were meant to be SW fanatics!?!

I'm not a huge SW fan, but even I'd pay at least £30 (about $42)

it depends..... if each dvd came with extras then 20 dollars each so a total of $60

Well, I am, but, the SEs won't be too different from the DVDs coming up.

I already have this, $50. It did include theatrical trailers, interviews and stuff from the Lucasfilm archives though.

For this, I would pay plenty!

Well, the O-OT were the movies i fell in love with. I think i would spend around 50-65 dollars for the untouched set.

Well, I paid $250 for the Definitive Collection LD box set. So there's no telling.

I'd pay $30 for an official box set release and I wouldn't pay more than $50 for a bootleg copy.

$50 for no extras. With a decent stack of extras up to about $80.

40 -50 bucks but I would expect at least a stereo mix and a widescreen transfer

Nothing, I will buy the set in Sept. and be perfectly happy.

Well, yeah, me too. And I'll probably be happier with this new set than if they released unaltered ones. But I figured this was more of a hypothetical, "what if the O-OT was the only one available" kind of question.

I would like to get DVDs cheaper but I don't trust people enough to buy any online that are used.

If you get them used from Amazon or somewhere, it's pretty reliable. I've had great luck with that-- got Attack Of The Clones for $6, Phantom Menace for $8, The Indiana Jones Trilogy for about $25... and no problems with any of them.

Mostly I'm worried that if I buy a used DVD from Amazon and it's scratched or damaged in some other way, I won't be able to get it replaced like I do with new purchases. Next time I go to Amazon, I'll look into it. Thanks.
